Until Then

Until Then

A Poem by Mysty Rayn

As I sit and ponder where we went wrong

My nights too short my days too long

I think of how we used to be

A family branching from our tree

Now a home of silent chill

We sedate out problems with a pill

Ignore each other as we pass

Pretending this charade will last

Resentment building with each remark

Our hearts decaying and growing dark

Hoping one day one of us will go

Until then, this is all we know

I do not know how these words came to you.
The description is so excellent that one can feel the emotions in your words. It was quite difficult to go through this.

There are two many relationships that take off so smoothly that we develop high expectations from the future but not too many of them survive, let alone floursih. It is strange how indifferent we become to those who at one point of time might have meant the world to us.

Outstanding poem. Makes one think.

the decay, sadness, denial, and medicating all brilliantly portrayed. like it a lot. I've been in too many of those silent homes.

The couplets add so much depth to this wonderfully written poem ... As sad as it is for many, Mysty, you penned it to perfection and captured the emotions! Wow! Great job! hugs

This poem is so well put together that I found the experience of reading it an honor. I liked that it was short yet extremely powerful. The rythme was excellent , the heartfelt meaning close to home. Beautiful !!

This is so sad. Crazy how behind so many warm house windows silence threatens all the occupents. This was a very somber piece. I can't say I liked it because it is all too real to me as I watch my parents and other elder families around me........
