Firefly

Firefly

A Poem by Sasavet
"

wrote this on mushrooms in my dorm room

"
Soft, supple light
taunting the corner,
you sing me to wake
to sleep, smiling.

Oh, flickering, fluent light
suffocating the corner,
call to another --
for I am a light,
I am two walls,
and all I want
is for you to see me
as I see you now.

I sense shadows
within the wall
behind the wall
of this wall.
You're touching my face
and only my face.
You gaze in my eyes
from the eyes of your mind,
only.

You're stroking my back,
tongue trapped inside.

The curtains fly out of the window --
dust to the minds
our minds
have made for themselves.

very good. It is rare that you can read something with this tone and it not come off at least slightly cheesy, but this was great! well written.

I cant really give you a good review of this piece. There was nothing I could find that was wrong with it. You made excellent choice and use of words, you pulled the reader in and kept their interest, you kept the verses snappy and sharp, and you truly conveyed emotion with this piece. This is possibly the first perfect piece of poetry on this website that I have not been able to rip apart. Congrats! heheh and awesome job! I look forward to reading more of your work!
