Pages of LifeA Poem by Mystic DreamsWritten in Burns Stanza - named after my all time favourite poet, the Scotsman - Robert BurnsA book lies open, crisp and white Made ready for the words to write To tell of sadness and delight Moments in time Recording the daily toils of life Secrets sublime
The knowledge of a thousand years Of death, dreams, happiness and tears The book holds all the hopes and fears Bound together All that the author engineers Held forever
But others tear the book apart Destroying life and hope and heart Perceiving not the writer's art Her true emotion Her soul pierced by many vicious dart On blackest ocean
Fragile pages soon torn away Lost long before the light of day And friends and lovers soon betray Their blackheart thought The writer's hopes and dreams they slay They think it sport
And on pages left within the book Others change words and the outlook Or steal them like some evil crook Then cast aside The writer's soul, and it is shook Upon the tide
But pen stand strong, heart beat with pride Encircle the black and vicious tide There is no reason you should hide Rekindle youth Don't be afraid, don't let fear guide But find life's truth © 2008 Mystic DreamsFeatured Review
