Painless I Sit In The DarkA Poem by Tracey C.It's an optimistic poem about getting over alcoholism
Painless I sit in the dark
The vice I ingest attacks my worries For this hour or so I feel “fine” But in time everything will come back This glass said it was my friend It said it could heal my aches and pains But all it did was bring them back again The liquid love it showed me this night Was its way to set me free? I tried to put it down and forget But my past would never allow me It’s been a week since my friend and I met It’s great I feel alive Funny to think, once of dependency You alone can survive Painless I sit in the dark © 2013 Tracey C. |
