EmptyA Poem by Vivien ShapiroCan you handle thisMy lungs are dry from all the cigarettes I've used to try and burn the lump in my throat that you left me with. Just two months ago you told me I was the brightest star in your sky and now here I am lost in the darkness. It's ironic how you were the only one who could stop the pain yet you were the one who made every bone in my body ache. I cannot explain the emptiness I feel with you gone and the bags under my eyes are from the thoughts of you at night. © 2014 Vivien Shapiro |
