Demons

Demons

A Poem by Mandy B.

Demons

They haunt us at night
We control them by day
Sometimes they rip through our disguise
And almost blow our cover away
Stirring up our dirt
Shaking up our mind
Almost convincing us
To question our purpose in life
Demons
Become our greatest possession
Our worst enemy
So comfortable to reside
And harder to release

Holding a grip hard to break
Triggering thoughts of darkness
Replaying the past slideshow
Far from a pleasant reminisce
Demons.
Caged.
Confined-
We all are accompanied by some.
Some of us are better at containing them
But there are some of us who are not.
