Embrace Of Shadows

This is one of the many poems from my poetry book.

 

In the still of the night, where fears take flight,

Whispered secrets of darkness, void of light.

I found them lurking, my demons near, in the shadows they danced, with a wicked leer.

Their eyes, like embers, burned deep in the gloom,

With a promise of solace within my room.

"Embrace us," they murmured, with voices so sweet,

"Make us you friends, let us make you complete."

I reach out a hand, trembling with dread,

And grasped their cold fingers, with thoughts unsaid.

Their laughter, a symphony of whispers and lies,

Filled the silence, eclipsing my cries.

Together we wandered, through nights so grim,

Their comfort a balm, yet my soul grew dim.

Each step we took, a descent into night,

Bound by friendship, devoid of light.

They showed me the world, through a shroud of despair,

With a twisted affection, we made quite a pair.

In the mirror's reflection, I barely could see,

The line that divided my demons from me.

In their sinister embrace, I lost and I found,

A twisted connection, both freeing and bound.

For making friends with your demons, some might say,

Is a dance with the darkness, where shadows play.

So here we remain, in the endless night,

Together, my demons and I, out of sight.

A friendship forged in the depths of my mind,

Twisted and sinister, yet perfectly aligned.
