The Chick-a-DeeA Poem by Myrna H. RickardThe Jaunty little bird! The Chick-a-Dee
The jaunty Chick-a-Dee seems to be The happiest of little birds. Where ever he flies, And whatever he does His cheery voice is heard.
When you see him perching Upon a branch, His shiny eyes so snappy, You wonder what he does all day, And why he seems so happy.
He wears a very regal suit, Yes! It is very proper attire. And when he calls his mate so dear Chick-a-Dee-Dee is all that you hear. But it does her heart inspire!
I know, of course, God gave them This little song to sing. He calls to her. She answers him. Their joy to our hearts they bring.
