The Wonder Of Spring

The Wonder Of Spring

A Poem by Myrna H. Rickard
"

Just for us to enjoy!

"

The Wonder of Spring

Does anyone fully comprehend

the really true wonder of Spring?

There is nothing quite so comparable

To the magical joy it will bring.

.

The long wintery nights remembered

From the deep freezing winds so cold -

It tends to shrink and shrivel the spirit,

But Spring is coming; we're told!

.

No matter the cold unmerciful winds,

No matter how chilled it will get;

The new grass beneath the banks of white snow

Says, "yes spring will come to us yet.

.

The final triumphant display of new life,

Is the joyous return of the birds.

It's like the quickened resurrection of life.

That is promised to us in God's words.

.

The total transformation from winter to spring

Upon this changeable earth that we trod,

Is a project of perfect precision,

All governed by the power of God!

.

Spring is nothing haphazard to Him.

In His promise, it happens each year.

It's coming produces incredible changes,

A wonderous regeneration is near.

.

The winter is past, darkness is gone,

Cold - vanished under warmiing sun.

We can sing again and free, free, free.

A new spirit in our life has begun.

.

Suddenly, everywhere is renewal of life.

There is freshness, lovliness, new birth -

We are reassured, and again at rest -

Just a taste of God's love to our earth.

.

He brings fresh sunlight to our lives.

Though God's heaven is our goal,

It brings the 'Wonder of Spring' anew -

He is springtime to our Soul!

.
