Raining ResonanceA Poem by Myra LochnerAfter three days of heavy rainsfor three days rain revealed the nature of river: running down steps and slopes toward puddles waiting in niches or spread over meadows to mirror an upside down world orchestrating the richness of sound: drums droning on roofs on asphalt fairies tiptoeing windowsills and wet upturned flutes heavy with transparency of sunless skies sheeting of sound draped in symphonies of silver and then finally a frog flinging his joyous chatter into my birdless morning © 2011 Myra Lochner
