Should've Asked You Out

Long time ago I should've asked you out

Long before I messed up

Then I wouldn't have been in this mess

Should've have paid more attention to self

Should've

Just should've

Should've tried to grow in confidence earlier

Why did it have to happen so late?

Oh well

But then again,

I've known some people who at first wondered why they had to go through a certain thing

Then they later

Much later 

They later find out exactly why they had to go through it

And it pops up from time to time

It shows up

And then it makes sense

And then they feel grateful they went through it

And they realize it was worth it

And sometimes they don't

And others do

So Oh well

Oh well

Maybe I'll learn why

Maybe someone will teach me

Maybe someone won't 

Maybe I won't

And maybe there's a reason

There probably is 

Maybe

Just maybe

I guess

Sometimes I wonder would it have made a world of difference?

Would my life be very different if I asked you out?

I think it would if you had said yes

Not so much if you said no

But who really knows where I'd be now if I asked you out

Who knows what I'd be doing now if I asked you out

Four years of liking you in high school

Four years

Just totally slipped by

Now its just a shadow

Just that
