Cast Aside

Cast Aside

A Poem by Selymsivad

Wishes of remembrance must subside
Memories of love and moments of sorrow
Altogether I wish to cast them aside.

Reminiscence of sweet kisses under a summer moon
Intimacy of almost eternal hugs like no tomorrow
I banish them along-side pink sugar perfume.

Fireworks flustering inside from our touch
Tears that I've caused you now make me smile
Unwanted now we realize our love was a crutch

Cloudy ignorance held my past, yet presently lucid
Lustful recollections of our bodies we'd defile
Dismiss these thoughts for they have become putrid

The secrets that you've shared can now be forgotten
So long as the duality is thrown out together
From the rough patches to the safety of delicate cotton

Our connection is severed and nothing can be implied
So long "Mr. Sun", hello gray skies and stormy weather
With all of my heart, the universe knows we tried
But altogether... I cast it all aside.
