The Official MeetingA Chapter by Elizebeth Davis
"Once again that was Alex and Kate." The announcer said coming back on stage. Everyone clapped, wooed, and whistled so much I couldn’t help but smile. "Well we're going to take a break." The announcer proclaimed and turned on some music. I hoped off the stage and went back to Leighanna. "Who knew you could sing that well! You were amazing!" She said right away. I laughed at her reaction then sat down sipping on my drink. "Com'mon Katie let's dance!" I gout up without protest because I knew it wouldn't work. She grabbed my wrist making me follow her to where she wanted to dance. It was in the middle of the 'dance floor' so we mixed in with everyone else. Me, Leighanna, and everyone else was dancing as best as we could to They're Not Gonna Get Us by Tatu. Leighanna kept trying to look sexy but all I could do was laugh. --Alex's POV-- Her face, her voice, her looks. Was all beautiful. And I let my opertunity slip right by me.
"How could you let someone like that just walk away?" One of my best friends Max said as I approached him. "I don't know. I was gonna say something but when I turned around she was gone." “Then let’s go find her!”
"How? There are so many people." Max just turned me around and pushed me towards the crowd. I heard mumbled voices from everyone catching only a few words. I was close to the middle of the crowd when I heard someone laughing. I looked in the direction of it and sure enough it was her. Not only is she beautiful but her laugh is enchanting and her smile is contages. I started walking over to her and stopped when I reached her.
"Hey I'm Alex I don't think we got to really meet each other earlier." I held out my hand for her to shake. "Hello I'm Kate." She said smiling and shaking my hand. I couldn't help but smile back.
"Would you and your friend like to get a drink with me and my friend?" She looked back at her friend then looked back at me replying
"I'm gonna have to pass on that. We actually need to go."
"Will I see you tomorrow?
"Maybe. If you're look hard enough." Before I could replied she turned around grabbing her friend and left. If I look hard enough? What was that supposed to meen?
“Did you talk to her?” Max asked approching me with some random girl I’m guessing he just met attached to his side.
“Yeah. She had to go.” I could tell he didn’t hear me or cared for that matter seeing how his and the girl’s face were glued to each others. “I’m gonna go. I’ll see you later.” Without waiting for his repliy I left. I grabbed my phone off our table and left the bar. Taking a left to head towards my apartment. All I could think about that night was here. She had a cretin smell that was so good it would drive you crazy until you smelt it again. She smelled like blue berries and some kind of flower. But I couldn’t figure out what kind. When I finally drifted off to sleep she was still on my mind. Truthfully it tortured me her always being on my mind and not knowing anything about her.
“UGH!” I rolled over to look at the clock seeing it was now 2am and she was STILL on my mind! I got up looking through my cds finding one I hadn’t listened to in a while. Opening the CD player I put the disc in and pressed play. Music soon coming out of the speakers. I layed back down on my bed closing my eyes only having to open them again. I got up going to the front door. I opened it seeing none other than Max.
“Hey Max.”
“So how was your chat with her?”
“Couldn’t this have waited until later?”
“No. I would’ve forgotten.” I rolled my eyes letting him in and telling him the story.
…
I was walking down the street on my way to get some food. It was almost 12:30pm and I still hadn’t seen Kate. Either I wasn’t ‘looking hard enough’ or we just weren’t met to see each other again. I saw my destination and took the last few steps to Mellow Mushroom. I found a seat and ordered my favorite thinking about how much I hate reality and how I would never see Kate again.
--Kate’s POV—
Leighanna and I were in some random store we found trying on dresses. We still hadn’t found the perfect one but I must say it was fun trying on all the different dresses.
“Do you think he’s actually going to look for you?” Leighanna asked out of no where.
“I don’t know. I mean I… Oh I don’t know.” Leighanna laughed at my response her knowing I really wanted to see him again. I guess it was all up to fate.
