Dark Waters, Bright Eyes

Dark Waters, Bright Eyes

A Poem by Charlie Ithilin
"

poopy stink teenage angsty bullshit

"
I am the unsettling one in the mountain's loins,
Alabaster skin to help me remember that I exist,
sometimes it's hard to think in the dark.

I have no need of sunlight, so I create my own,
In the form of distended cataracts,
Like maggots breeding in the dark,
Unable to see the dust in the noise.

Pure waters urged me into these dank pools,
Soothing waves and echoing promises,
Thinking I would rot in the cloying water.

But I did not.
I do not spoil like other fish, for I am carved of sterner stuff,
A rock that floats amid delicate fins.

I have no eyes,
I have no skin,
I have no light.

I only have the joy of the silence,
and the joy of my thoughts.
