Ghostly OperaA Poem by Aimee Mahathycirca 2005~ my response to Chopin
Darkly, rich, humming strings of the cello
Unsettle centuries' dust in its prime Mournful violin partners the bellow Of emotions pouring forth from its time Softly the duet succeeds in bringing Tears from souls trapped, an era forgotten Then soft laughter in spite of such ringing Of hymns echoed in pasts woe-begotten Slowly, after days, lifetimes perhaps of Nocturne-epitaphs for persons unknown Trio diminishing into a glove Of saddened entities, ending alone © 2010 Aimee MahathyAuthor's Note
