some lyrics I just wrote- of losing oneself in society
There are so many different Versions of me Sketched, Re-written and drowning
That In the race to be the best I forgot myself
Well hello mirror Will you tell me who I am? Will my eyes realize The outline to My soul? Hello teddy bear Who's arms used to Hold you near? Tell me.... Tell me please...
There are so many different Wishes I hold Grand, Glittering and historic
That in the everyday Rise and sleep It seems impossible
Well hello mirror Will you tell me who I am? Will my eyes realize The outline to My soul? Hello teddy bear Who's arms used to Hold you near? Tell me.... Tell me please...
Mirror mirror on the wall Fill me up with What I forgot Mirror mirror Mirror mirror I'm lost....
God how I wish there was a way to include the beat and notes I intend... of course, sheet music, but I can't read music so that's impossible. XD Or if I could only upload video, I'd record myself on webcam singing it. but oh well. I hope you get the point =]

We come out of the shell, wearing mask. Sadly, it's something we can't live without. True enough, we keep, not just one, but a lot. Now, who could tell which one was real? Perhaps, the mirror could.
I read a few of your pieces, and this one stands out to me. We are all lost, sometimes, and therefore anyone can identify with this poem.
My favorite lines here:
"There are so many different
Wishes I hold
Grand,
Glittering
and historic
That in the everyday
Rise and sleep
It seems impossible"
I wouldn't change anything about this poem, really. It has a great rhythmic flow, and the interruptions to flow add emphasis where it feels right. Excellent job. Write on!
Great opening, ES... Getting lost in society's perceptions can be
a daunting task but ultimately it's you that will find the way to
know who you really are.. And Hello MIrror mirrors just that!
I love the line "the outline to my soul?"
RISE AND SHINE!

Brillaint feel and flow... I can sense the anguish and pain... the haunting tones... the despair found in dark reflections and wonderings... This line just jumped out at me: "That In the race to be the best I forgot myself..." Such an amazing song.. truly!
I'm 33 now, much more settled into myself, and getting back to it again. The previous about me is gonna stay for now, since it's still somewhat accurate and I need some time to figure out what to say .. more..
