Sleepwalking

Sleepwalking

A Poem by Aimee Mahathy
"

like a haze of down, resting sweetly on your lashes~

"
Dream state-
We walk in sleep
Through a sticky, viscous
Liquid.

Some heavenly
Molasses offered up
For sweetened
Hearts.

The haze in shades of
    carouselous
Golds and cardinals,
Foaming aquamarine...

Time is carmelized,
Reduced to a
Nonsensical accessory.

With glitter resting
On my languid eyes -

I sigh,
In a smile.

Author's Note

Aimee Mahathy
Well, after a long absence from writing, I wrote this. What it is or why it's here, I've no idea. I'd been living the past few days in a haze. Trying to get on a day schedule. Taking two hour naps after two hour naps, staying up for 12 hours then sleeping 20. And then I introduced sleeping pills in the mix to try to put some structure in it. And all I got was a few days of virtual sleepwalking.
I just wrote how it felt... durrr.
Not sure if I like it or not.

I really like this.
It's strange in its own inventive, creative way.
Great job.

I'm 33 now, much more settled into myself, and getting back to it again. The previous about me is gonna stay for now, since it's still somewhat accurate and I need some time to figure out what to say .. more..
