How I Disappear

How I Disappear

A Poem by Aimee Mahathy
"

just a crappy poem about conflict

"

This way and that,
Hither and yon;
Torn by extremes,
Trying to hold on.

I want to remember
A time of "before".
There have been too many.
My mind is a w***e.

She flirts with destruction
And sells out to lies;
Taking abuse
With its fake-smiled prize.

She's no better than dirt,
Though filled with gold,
A masochist true -
Her own whip she holds.

It is a cycle,
Like Ouroboros.
I am that serpent.
I shrink as I grow.

I love the self torment in this piece. I relate to this all too well, beautifully put and very connectible. Thank you so much for sharing

I like this a lot. The rhyming is executed very very well and you don't deviate from the overall message- self-destruction and betrayal. A concept I'm familiar with myself. Very nicely done :)

About
I'm 33 now, much more settled into myself, and getting back to it again. The previous about me is gonna stay for now, since it's still somewhat accurate and I need some time to figure out what to say .. more..
