To Have Loved and Lost

To Have Loved and Lost

A Poem by Aimee Mahathy
"

nature can sometimes cruelly reflect our pain

"

The strongest longing;

She controls the viaducts.

Her lover joined eternity

An equinox ago.

Watched over by the moon;

She finds comfort

In a strange breeze

Bringing warmth,

         the scent of kisses

         and caresses,

         hands meeting and

         thoughtful glances.

A gasp stains the

Purr of steady breathing.

Awake -

The mockingibrd laughs

At her pitiable cry.

I'm 33 now, much more settled into myself, and getting back to it again. The previous about me is gonna stay for now, since it's still somewhat accurate and I need some time to figure out what to say .. more..
