Lately I've been so taken with reading and taking notes that my brain is sidetracked from writing.
I've found a wonderful book, which takes up much of my time- sometimes I lose sleep. XD
I've also been taking notes and seriously studying poetry these past few days. Just delving deeper into the basics (which become quite complicated) of poetry.
But lately I get these little 4 line stanzas popping into my head. I think about something, realize that phrase is a good start to a poem and go from there (in my head). It's usually before I go to sleep or while I'm doing something terribly mundane. I don't know if I'd consider them "poems"... but they're good starters!

Well it IS short. But if you read it a few times, I think you can see that there are many meanings it can have. I mean, it could mean that in the past someone was always there for you so now without them you can remember that and it helps. Or.. it could mean that the person's presence is so powerful that even when he/she is not present you can feel them comforting you. Or something like that. I'm just saying, you managed to throw in several possible meanings in four lines. Very well done. Oh and I didn't even begin to get into the title. It brings in the idea that LOVE is what gives this person so much power over your feelings. Or even, you could be talking about LOVE itself. Love is there for you, even when it's absent from your life. Amazing! Heh. Sorry. Getting a bit carried away here.
Definately seems like a poem to me, short is sweeter sometimes, I mean your few words here say it all. It doesn't get much better than that, someone to take your tears away. Very nice.
Read my, "This Kind Of Lovin'" for a similar take.
No need to get on your own case for writing briefly. Sometimes a feeling is succinct, because it's already fully-formed at this one seems to be. In my experience, when we write lengthy convoluted poetry, it's because our feelings AREN'T sorted out, and we're talking to (or arguing WITH!) ourselves, primarily!

You say so much through what you did not say...this is a great poem. Yes, you could continue with what is here, but I think it stands on its' own, just as well. Great piece!
I'm 33 now, much more settled into myself, and getting back to it again. The previous about me is gonna stay for now, since it's still somewhat accurate and I need some time to figure out what to say .. more..
