600 feet Above

600 feet Above

A Poem by Aimee Mahathy
"

Just my view on selling out.

"
I'll show you how
To have a funeral.

Drive past the corporate
                    headquarters.
Each flawless, uniform
Window;
    a tombstone.
Unlike the old West shoot-outs,
It's silent.
      The surrender of life.

I read this a couple of times to let it breath for me. I was so engaged with your view on the corporate world. Interestingly enough I am a business major (oh the irony) and yet I found the poem wonderful. I also felt the structure of the poem added a certain drama that would definately not have been there before. Great read, and in my opinion, great poem.

Paints a picture, and then gets that picture across. Good job.
