To Chicago

To Chicago

A Poem by Aimee Mahathy

Calling my name more romantic than a lover
You kissed me from one state over
I, drunk on your passion
Fell under your spell
Beautiful city
I live for your trashy nights

I suppose that's why
You guarded me with pigeons and
Kept your inner demons at bay
How eloquent you are, my Trash Prince
So in love
I couldn't Sleep
So hypnotized
I didn't wanna leave

Aimee Mahathy
My friends and I always camp out for shows in Chicago. No matter what weather or what neighborhood. We've seen a lot, short of murder. I'm still in love.

About
I'm 33 now, much more settled into myself, and getting back to it again. The previous about me is gonna stay for now, since it's still somewhat accurate and I need some time to figure out what to say .. more..
