Photographs

A Poem by Aimee Mahathy
"

What happens when you're addicted to addictions.

"

Faded edges
Only I can see
Outsiders soak up the colours
While I taste the monochromatic
Dramatics
I stared in the mirror today
That girl who owns my name
She whispered to me
                                    "What happened?"
And I whispered back
                                    "Everything."

Yeah, I don't think this one is what I'd consider "finished" just yet.

This part right here:

"I stared in the mirror today
That girl who owns my name
She whispered to me
"What happened?"
And I whispered back
"Everything."

Thin photographs fell from
My hands"

...is a brilliant poem unto itself, but the begining belongs, and helps bring the lens into focus. I am going to need a separate library just for your writing Aimee. I read your poems slowly, not just because I want to savor the suprises around each corner, but because the words themself fit so good together its like walking along a path and finding clues to the answer to truth, and understanding.

Yes, I loved it.

I would consider this finished. I think it's wonderful. You could easily go on to explain more, but I think it would be best to leave it be.

I'm 33 now, much more settled into myself, and getting back to it again. The previous about me is gonna stay for now, since it's still somewhat accurate and I need some time to figure out what to say .. more..
