A valediction to Rhyme

A valediction to Rhyme

A Poem by MyInkyPen
"

A thankyou to words and the power they have to cure, conquer and create.

"
Triggered by silence
a voice with no name
whispering words of hate
Solitute lost, no mercy, no hope
Irrational thoughts take their place

Blood forces its way
through rising veins
racing to a death finish line
Self loathing slave
to a voice with no name
caged by invisible chains

Destructive thoughts
empower vulnerable mind
tearing once confident traits
Blood fury flames
engulf innocent eyes
no colour, no love only hate

Destroying all hope
snatching all warmth
screaming "just leave me alone!"
Your cold reply
and sinful dark lies
turn my scarlet heart to stone

but theres a secret smile
a light in the shadows
this time I won't let you in
Unbeknown to all
i'm stronger now
Like hell am I letting you win

I break through the chains
and replace the pain
You're losing control this time
Your hateful lyrics
and sinful dark lies
have been conquered by beautiful rhyme

dark and passionate...yes words are your Saviour when you're marooned by silence...I really love the pathos in this one. Keep it up!

Yes, music and writing does have an incredible amount of therapeutic value. We can sing away or write about the darkness and leave with a smile as you have done here in this excellent piece.
