Childhood thoughts

Childhood thoughts

A Poem by MyInkyPen
"

Not really a poem, just a thought.

"

I don’t care much for love poems.

I like movies with sad endings where

the guy doesn’t get the girl and

they never find a cure for that disease.

I like to feel the cold on my face until

it burns my skin. I like the rain.

I won’t look you in the eye,  but not

because I don’t want you to see my

thoughts;  because I don’t want

you to see the chemical reaction

in my brain, fooling me into feeling

things I am supposed to feel.

Fairytales are fake, promises made to break

and i’m not a pessimist,

just a kid who’s seen it all too young.

A very literal take on the world, especially when you talk of the chemical reaction in the brain. Despite normally loving figurative language and the abstract side of literature, I do like this poem for being blunt and serious about the world. Sometime we have to learn the world doesn't work like we hope in our fantasy's and I feel you've captured that well :)

"Fairytales are fake, promises made to break" what a chomotkar piece of poetry! Really amazed me! I loved the honesty in speaking what reality is actually like in this poem!
