A Poem.....Hiding in Love’s Cemetery
Hiding in Love's Cemetery, I lay, Covered with the earth, so much clay. Beneath the shadows of yesterday. My heart a tomb, my soul a grave, As I seek solace, in love's embrace. The memories haunt, like ghosts in the night, If only the Angels could make it right. As I wander through the graveyard Egg jof my life. But in the stillness, I find respite, As love's sweet breath, sheds new light. In Love's Cemetery, I find peace, As the pain and hurt begin to cease. For in the arms of love, I'm released, From the chains of sorrow, and grief that never cease. That we must needs die is the motif of disbelief. That there is an afterlife is but human conceit. The headstone and the foot markers gives relief for those that live still unto fates destiny and walk replete in charity…. Going down holy in The book of history. And as the moon rises, and the stars appear. Twinkling above the rose briers that traps all the Vampires. I know that love will always be near. For in Love's Cemetery, I am deaths firstborn. A Hail to a new beginning, a brand new dawn. I live, love dies and I move on. So let the shadows fall, and the winds blow, I sit and wonder at the death’s arpeggio. For in Love's Cemetery, I will know, That in the end, the number of the dead will always grow, and change the paint on our faux hearts with the whiteness of snow. And once in its embrace, death never lets us go…. So we can go on hiding in love’s apropos. © 2023 Melody |
