The Day The Music Died

The Day The Music Died

A Poem by Dalaina Renee
"

I like Buddy Holley,The Big Bopper, and Richie Valens.

"

We said good-bye to american pie.

The day the music died.

Three were choosen to ride in that plane one fateful night.

Never to see the light of day.

They thought the stars owned the skies.

Now thier freinds, and family are alone to cry.

Because this was the day the music died.

Rest In Peace,Buddy Holley,Richie Valens, and The Big Bopper

I am fascinated with that period of time right now! That picture is the actual photo of their plane wreck.

It's a short but beautiful tribute to the artists you admire! Also an adventurous way of portraying death, i love it!

Oh I thought this was a lovely tribute!

I too enjoy their music...my father was always very fond of them. :]

They thought the stars owned the skies.

I love this line, the way it can refer to either "rock stars" or celestial stars. Thanks for this poignant look at a sad event.

Great poem and great tribute. I was just a school girl and I can tell you where I was when I heard the news. Me and my sisters were riding in the back of my aunt and uncles truck listening to the radio.

Cool. I liked The Big Bopper's Chantilly Lace and everything by Buddy Holly and the Crickets. And who can forget Richie Valen's La Bamba? Very nice tribute.

Waylon Jennings was supposed to be on that flight, but gave up his seat to Richie Valens. I love that song, also. I remember that day well. It's nice to see someone from your generation appreciate the loss we felt. Rain..
