A break in sanity

Daylight waits,

The darkness cries,

Beg for release,

Forgiveness lies,

 

Random words,

Spoken so soft,

Almost unheard,

Almost forgot,

 

Dream your alive,

Fear that your dead,

So loudly cry,

Awake in bed,

 

Losing sanity,

Losing reality,

Curses; Profanity,

Forgiveness lies.

Nice rhythmic beat to this short poem (works well for the theme). The whole thing leaves the reader (me in this case) wondering where things are headed - insanity, obviously. I remain uncertain about the phrase 'forgiveness lies' especially in its italicized form in the last line. A little intrigue perhaps - what forgiveness was promised but not delivered? Good work.
