Your Voice

Your Voice

A Poem by James Tincher
"

A wonderful friend from high school called me out of the blue and I was excited to hear her voice.

"

It has been decades since

I heard your voice last.  A

collage of memories flashed

through me like a bullet

piercing my heart.

Your call was for a purpose

much more than just saying

hello.  You called because you

care.

Having someone call, rather than

using any other form is as meaningful

as knocking on my door.

Hearing your voice was like

a love note passed across

the class room to an unexpected

soul .  Spirits have been lifted

and a smile you have given. I

hope to hear your voice again.
