Are You There

Are You There

A Poem by James Tincher
"

I was inspired to write this from the lonely feeling of sitting in a laundry mat.

"

Do you see me

sitting alone?

I have no idea

If you are there.

What is on your

mind, what do

you carry in

your heart?

Can you tell my

heart is broken?

Can you see the

tears in my eyes?

What makes me

turn to see if you

are there?  Why

should I, what

would give me

any reason.

It is dark and

the reflection

of this place

is in the window.

All I see are the

red and white

lights of cars

as they pass

by.

If you are there

it is not noticeable.

So, I assume you

are not.

What would give

you any reason

to watch me, here

in this place.

I guess I will never

know unless you

walk through the

door.
