Rainbow in DecemberA Poem by James TincherThis poem is about a thunderstorm that rolled through our area a week before Christmas.Flashes of lightning in the distance, thunder rumbles softly through a cloudy back drop. It’s a week before Christmas and a storm is approaching.
The brisk wind pushes its way through like a subway car before it enters the station. The smell of rain is in the air and a December day has become a remembrance of spring.
As fast, yet peaceful as she approached she is gone. Instead of snowmen and sleigh rides puddles and ponds cover the ground.
Clouds begin to break, pieces of blue peek through the pillows as rays of sun light begin to shine. It’s a week before Christmas and a rainbow in December will bring us sense of peace on earth and good will towards men. © 2013 James Tincher |
