A Poem For Him

I don't remember falling in love with you. 

People always talk about falling love like it's a line being drawn, 

a mark on a chart that says "then this happened". 

They show it in movies as a moment.

All the great writers describe love like a gunshot,

Where a man pulls the trigger,

And the woman gets shot.

But you never pulled any trigger, 

And there was never a dramatic scene.

I can't remember a before I loved you,

Because my love for you has painted all of my memories.

I think I've loved you a whole lot longer than just one lifetime.

There was never a chapter in our love story titled "Then this happened".

But maybe there was one titled "us"
