Morning

Morning

A Poem by MyAddictionToMe

The morning creeps slowly into my room
Stretching it's sunlight arms over my pillows

I watch the ceiling change color and imagine that today I will do something
I think of the world outside and of all that I could accomplish

I even get so far as to pull the covers away from my chin
Feet over the bed, arms over my head
But my body is sore and my heart even more so

As soon as my feet touch the floor I am awake
And thoughts of you invade

So I give up again, at least for today
Maybe I can sleep without dreams for just a bit longer

Maybe tomorrow I'll be ready to feel again.
