Oxford Street, London

A Poem by itai

Once you slip away and lose your grip on life

You will lose Her and all the possibilities

That lay at her feet,

All the dreams will become lost to you

And you will gnash your teeth in the agony of Regret.

Yet you ran away, pushed Her away

Forgot her name and lived in misery

Then the City of Life closed its walls on you

And squashed you like an ant!

Turned its back!

Small man in an incredible world

Now your hold on life looks clumsy,

Because life's hurricane is without mercy

And the dead need to move on

Annoyed yet atoned by your sorrow.

Little man walking against angry winds

And a knife-sharp breeze

Don't you know the rules have changed

Ever since you lost your soul

To the turbulence of life?

You grope on the little that is left of you.

But perhaps you may rise someday

To your own surprise

You may watch another sunrise

And once again learn to appreciate a true friend,

Learn to close those eyes and create visions of Love

And not the detachment you often peer into.

Remember who you are.Just remember..
