Statistic

Statistic

A Poem by Mwash
"

A simple thought on statistics on human life

"

Another plea for help,

Hopelessly ricochets off a hardened heart,

That cold hard stare,

Condemning the poor helpless soul.

A small flicker of hope,

Precariously sustains the will to live,

With every cry ignored,

That flame comes ever closer to extinction.

Callous heartless souls,

Have prematurely ended countless lives,

Here was another life,

Teetering dangerously over the edge.

The coroner sighs again,

He has seen this many times before,

He signs the paperwork,

Another statistic added to the ones before
