Eternal Love

Eternal Love

A Poem by Mwash

He hugged her tighter still,

Knowing the end had come at last,

They slept in each other’s arms,

None wanting to leave first.

Together they had been for years,

In times of joy and sorrow,

All their troubles and fears,

They faced together as one.

With time their love had strengthened,

An unbreakable bond they shared,

The vows they said to each other,

They upheld to the very end.

Even as the end drew nearer,

Their love burnt strong as ever,

They would leave together,

Leave the world as lovers still.

The decades they shared together,

Made their story more profound,

A love stronger than Romeo and Juliet’s

Even death could not break apart.
