The End Is Nigh

The End Is Nigh

A Poem by Mwash
"

Been a year since I last posted, this is the result of a play of words.

"

Long ago in the days of old,

When all men had hearts of gold,

Of the end of the world men were told,

In the end the world would die and turn cold.

Years later the prophecies were forgotten,

Men turned evil promises were broken,

The world decayed to the very core rotten,

Filled with hate all codes of decency trodden.

The teachings of old people forgot,

The souls of men black as a pot,

Of good and kindness people thought not,

The minds of men were filled with tort.

Now the end of the world is truly nigh,

People regret calling the prophecy a lie,

With a heave of sadness we collectively sigh,

To our beautiful planet we say goodbye.

"When you see a cloud in the west, you say 'it shall rain'...and it comes to pass. You hypocrites, you can discern the faces of the sky, but are blind to the signs of the times!"
