HEALING INK (PT II)/WORDS

HEALING INK (PT II)/WORDS

Can words change a thing?
Make the world a bit better…
Can words warm me up,

More than could a sweater?

Though sometimes hollow,

Can words cause change?
Though sometimes evasive,

Can words hold enough weight?

Words are all I have…
And is that really enough?

I should be able to do more,

Though it seems all that tough.

Words, words, words…
I can pour them across pages.

Words, words, words…

But do I even make a difference?

This weight on my soul,

Can words heal this breaking world?
My words are immature,

Can they harness any power?

This weight on my mind,

These words spiraling around.
These weights on my heart,

Words tying me down.

I can pen a good story;

Words paralyzing good action.

Can I change the world?
Are words the right direction?

Can words cover scars?
Can ink heal the masses?
Am I delusional to think:

Action stays while word passes?

Author's Note

M.Babu
Hardly my best work…but I feel like my writing sometimes is counterproductive to the thing that really matters: action. I’ve realized that my words are still words at the end of the day…Why do YOU write? What does writing mean to YOU? (If you’re reviewing please could you leave the reason why you write)…Thanks for reading these rants of mine people. Appreciate it.

I have to disagree with you on that one Michael, this is surely one of your best writes ever. This was soo good. I write because its my way to get away from the world and daily struggles of everyday life. Its my time to myself, my own world because most of my friends don't even know I write. But I mainly write to have a voice, a say in the matter of the things I represent and the things I go against. Like some people turn to drinking and stuff like that I turn to writing because its a healthy way for me to express myself along with dancing and stuff of that nature. I loved your rant it clearly expresses why people feel the need to write. Thank you.

Words from a great man can change the world. Martin Luther King when he spoke. He was like thunder from the sky and create great change with his words and voice. Many great leaders in this world. Was a man in South Africa who changed a world for many with few deaths. Don't underestimate words. The Kennedy brothers and Martin Luther king were killed for their words and love of people/peace. Need men and woman with powerful words to scream to the sky and demand their leader. End the hate and violence on our world. Thank you for your always amazing and powerful poetry.

Wow chofi. You should give up software engineering to become a writer! no kidding.
I write because it helps me express my emotions at its best. I don;t express my feelings too well and I realized that writing has helped me let go of everything. It's a wonderful feeling when I finish. I wish I could write more often.

I write because I get inspiration brewed mostly by great writers (like you) who pen great pieces (like the one above). Awesome piece. Awesome 'cause its laden with meaning. I already feel like writing:)

Wow! This is so meaningful...About your question, I write because this is my way of expressing how I feel especially when I'm feeling miserable. For me, writing is my best friend...Sometimes, I even write my secrets but of course I keep it so that nobody will see, haha...It's my passion...I seriously love writing not only for myself but also for other people around me...Some things try to stop me but I never let them ruin my dream of being a professional writer...

This poem just made my day! I love it a lot!!! Mr. Babu (Right?), never give it up! Just follow your heart! Keep on writing if you really love it! For me, wonderful words are enough! I swear! Your writing is soooo outstanding!!! One of the best poem I've read... :)))
