How long have YOU been Legal? Anything to show for it?

Been Legal one minute;

Got my head in a knot.

Jubilation, excitement

And plans to be sought!

Been Legal one day;

All the glee’s wearing off.

But still there’s tomorrow,

So tonight I won’t scoff!

 

Been Legal one month;

Got my I.D. too!

Though that picture

of me,

I never will zoom.

Been Legal one year;

Not much change from

the last.

But more responsibility,

On me others trust.

 

Wow!!

Been Legal 10 years.

It’s been that long?

Cause all I’ve achieved

Couldn’t fill a single song.

I’ll get to my dreams,

This time I’m serious!

Now I’ve got bills,

And a fiancé that’s tedious.

 

Been legal 50 years!

Can’t help but chuck a grin.

It’s been quite a journey.

I wouldn’t change a thing!

All the excitement and doubts of youth mashed and culminating into elderly bliss.
Forgive the many poems i'm writing recently...gotten over an interminable spell of the dreaded WB (Writers Block) and i'm MAD inspired now!!

A life in a short poem, still you manage to say a lot. though I still wonder if I would change some decisions of my life, if I live it all over again..got me thinking, nice one.

I like the story in this poem. I like how you took me on a journey in a life. I'm 52 years old. I look back and wonder would I do the same again. A outstanding poem. I like the positive ending. You can write a good tale.
