UGLY DUCKLINGA Poem by M.BabuShe was a Late Bloomer, And now she’s everywhere. She wasn’t like your clique, You made sure she Knew it. Lipstick on her locker. Eggs on her windshield. To you she wasn’t Normal. And you were Right then… She was just an Ugly Duckling.
She dressed alil’ funny, Didn’t bother much with Make Up. Plus she loved Shakespeare, And read World History. Dreamed of being An Astronaut, As you wooed ‘Aston this’ And Followed Meagan that.
Now you regret it. Wish you’d realized, Her Hidden Charisma. The Beauty Underneath Her clothes.
See… She was a Late Bloomer, And now she’s everywhere. The News, The Moon, France. See… She didn’t need to be cooler. And now she’s everything. An Astronaut, A Success, An inspiration.
She shines brighter Than a lone star On a dark night. And she’s encouraging Ugly Duckling’s like herself To fight the pain, Tears and taunts. And one day Bloom into Beautiful Swans.
She’s talking to you.
