THE BOOK’S PAGESA Poem by M.BabuTry to see through the fogYou can tell it from his pose, that he comes from a lot of money, You can’t tell from his plastic smile, that he feels like he’s nothing. She’s most popular in her class, plus she’s valedictorian on her transcripts, People think she’s got it all; unaware her parents are redundant addicts. The ruthless thug who mugged you last month, took your valuables apologizing, Looks like a hardened criminal in the line up; he just had to feed his starving family. The celebrity on reality television- talkative and outgoing- a real entertainer, Fans assume she has it easy; clueless she still fights her childhood stutter. The meticulous Nobel Prize Laureate, who gives all his cures for free, “He’s such an insufferable show-off”; he watched his brother die, all because of a silly fee. A filthy woman at the volunteer programme your Probation forces you to attend, You wish she’d stop touching you; she’s got the rare blood your failing heart needs to mend. Who else have you labeled; is your mind stuck in worldly cages? Take a second look around you; forget the cover- turn forward to The Book’s Pages.
