ASSASSINA Poem by M.BabuAssassin explores the twisted notion of love as simply as i can put it.distraught, she sipped her wine. Tears fogging her vision, her demeanor- recalcitrant, elegantly to her feet, indubitably burnt. “It was all bogus, a façade, an act?” “no, it was all truth, reality, fact.” “But your eyes unjaded, so collegial, so moving…” “miss Sweeney enough drivel, it’s about time you get going.” Marred, wounded, and alas a little colder, out she tottered, her Gucci trembling on her shoulder. She wouldn’t make it around the block, rather to her car, my team was the best, like Zacky V. on his guitar. Cheque all in order, standing; my feet shuffle, glad to get going- quite an overpriced truffle. The parking lot’s murky, her heels resound like the thunder, rookie gaffe, inane blooper, an outright blunder. Leone, Cortez, and Gregorovitch tactically in their places, t’was suffice enough to take that plane full of snakeses. From separate ends we all began our perilous assail, safety clips off, stalking vigilantly with absolutely no quail. BOOM! POW! POWIE! CHUCKIE! SANG! - SUUNG! ricochets rang out like that foolish cartoon. Hilarious really how things turn out, six whizzes, four grunts- not the premeditated result. Heartfixed, smiling yet simultaneously distressed, She kneels right beside me, with a figure so blessed. Her tears littering my face, “Why?” she needs, “We assassins…we’re not like other craven breeds.” Blood oozing down my cheek, sirens blaring in the distance, “Go” I choke out, “and not for assistance!” A last kiss, a stifled sniff and a hollow grin… the beauty escapes devoid her inert assassin. -M.Babu-
