A Single MomentA Poem by MutleyA poem about that amazing experience when adrenaline enables you to see a moment frozen in timeA scene of stillness Time has paused to glorify The air hangs to fortify The treasure between past and future Light sticks to the surface Gravity forgets its purpose As debris floats in midair A leg outstretched precariously Held in perpetual immobility A moment’s emotion captured in expression Fasten upon a face for eternal inspection Like an old photo Shot in the hands of disarray A light that flashed over the fray Then dropped back into undistinguishable darkness The image is that of captured chaotic essence A million pieces of havoc intertwined Drifting far into the depths of the mind To be analyzed in scrutiny Displaying the paths of predestiny With frozen chaos hanging in balance Threatening to shatter all over the observer A string thrums, vibrating the air with melody Then reverberating to a great cacophony The song of pandemonium returning to the ear A great explosion smashes the far and near The hurried heart once again beats The whirling air once again flows in repeats And the world is let off of its puppet stings As it all falls to the earth Danger penetrates the serenity Time has restored its identity © 2010 MutleyReviews
