Chapter 19A Chapter by Christine TI opened the door to my room and allowed him to
go in first. “So, what do you think?” “I think it’s a pretty cool room.” He looked out the window, “Wow you have a view
of the Schmerz house, that’s not cool.” He looked at me and smiled. “So, let’s
get to know each other, tell me about you.” I smiled back, “Well, I came from
Virginia, my mother and I used to live in a place a lot smaller than this. I
was happy at the place we were at before, but after my father died my mother
wasn’t so happy there anymore. There were a lot of memories. So when she got
her job promotion she took it and now we are here. This is my cat Leo,
downstairs is my dog sally, I love the outdoors and have a great sense of
humor. Anything else you would like to know?” Connor sat down next to me on my
bed, “No I think that will do for now. Tomorrow we will get this stuff done as
fast as possible so we can take care of this once and for all. Right now, I’m
having feelings running through me I haven’t had for awhile and you’re causing
them.” I looked down at my feet and back at him, “Is
that good or bad?” He got close to me and whispered, “You tell me”. At that
moment we were centimeters away from kissing. He then cupped my chin in his
hand and kissed me on the lips. It felt like everything stopped and my heart
sped up so fast I thought I would pass out. This lasted awhile. When we broke
apart from the kiss, it left us both breathless. “..I-I’m going to s-say that’s
a good thing.” Connor responded with, “I
agree one hundred percent with you.” “After what happened today with Brian, I don’t
want to rush anything, if that’s alright?” “That is perfectly alright, I understand and
it’s always good to take it slow.” He replied “Well, what now?” “Let’s go for a walk, shall we?” “We shall” Connor then took my hand and we walked
downstairs and then outside, also letting my mom know we were going for a walk.
We headed towards the safe part of the woods, going in the direction to the
lake. We walk side by side quietly listening to the night sounds. The moon was
high and bright giving off enough light for us to see where we were going. When
we stopped at the cliff where the lake was, we sat down and watched the
reflection of the moon in the water. “I hope everything goes as planned tomorrow”, I
said. “Oh, I’m sure it will” “I trust you, when I’m with you now, I feel
safe. I also felt safe with Brian. But this is a different feeling. Somehow
it’s different.” “Well, I want you to feel safe with me and I’m
glad you trust me. I’ll protect you, no matter what happens, that’s a promise.”
He then wrapped his arm around me and held me. Before I realized it, I drifted
off to sleep. When I woke up, I was still in Connors arms, only I was being
carried. “Well, hello there. You feel asleep, and I thought it would be good to
carry you home instead of disturbing your sleep. We are almost there.” I smiled at him, “I think I can walk now that
I’m up.” “Are you sure? I can carry
you all the way.” “No, that’s alright,
I don’t my mom to think something’s wrong.” He then put me down and allowed me
to walk. I took out my phone, it was 9:35, and my curfew was 10:00. “Wow, be
glad you woke me up, my curfew is 10:00.” We both laughed. When we got to my porch he stood in front of me.
“Well, goodnight and thanks again for everything”, I said. He replied, “You’re very welcome and I’ll see
you tomorrow.” He leaned down and cupped my face in his hand giving me another
kiss. “Goodnight”, he whispered. “Night”, I replied. He then left and walked
back to his house which was to the right of mine. I opened the door and saw my mother and Pete
sitting in the living room. “Hey you guys”.
My mother looked over, “Hello honey, I was that walk, you were gone for
awhile”, she asked. “It went pretty well, we actually fell asleep, well I fell
asleep on Connor at the lake. We watched the moon’s reflection on the water. It
was very peaceful.” My mother smiled, “That’s good honey, I’m glad you had fun.
I would like to meet his parents some time.”
“You will mom don’t worry. I’m going to bed now, I’m so tired.” © 2010 Christine T |
