The Crescendo

The Crescendo

A Poem by Jock Engelman

And in your arms I pray as I lay today;
I know that everything will be okay;
We listen to French sophistication;
In the format of classical music;
The atmosphere sparks and embers like magic;
The flutes and harps play ever so softly;

I lay you on the covers and kiss you;
With you and the music, my heart just flew;
The music begins to build to a crescendo;
As I suck on your upper lip, we shake;
Knowing that we can be ourselves, not fake;
As the music breaks down to a single harp;

I whisper those two little words, "Be Mine?";
I know I don't have to worry, It's fine;
Nor must I be scared to utter those words;
I pull off the chains, shackles and rings;
And discard all my material things;
They now no longer bind me to my past;

Together we laugh and we frolic;
No cares for other's words of vitriolic;
Cause nothing can damper my happiness;
As we grip each other, you dig in your nails;
I feel your heart upon mine, As it hails;
If I could, I would lay her forever.

Nice poem about finding happiness and the past sadness no longer matters.
