Bearing a scared heartA Poem by Jock Engelman
Life sometimes will throw a bone;
Alas, often it does not, leaving us in the unknown; Whether you walk one street or another; Changes everything in who you meet; The force of life is too discreet; Whether you make one decision or another; Whether relationships last or not; It Truly matters not; As with each break, you learn who not to take; But the unexpected man; May just be where a better journey than before; As long as he sees all the beauty in a girl such as you; A girl with a passion for horses; And a stronger sense of loyalty; Than the stars to the moon on a clear night; Filled with beauty, intelligence and potential; And a sweetness almost celestial; For a man to see how strong your hearts firelight burns; That is why I as an unexpected man; Am overcome with boiling nerves stronger than; A thousand butterflies and fireflies; Buzzing and twisting knots deep inside; Knowing this'll continue until I know I've tried; So to wear my heart on my sleeve and ask doth thou accept a date; © 2014 Jock EngelmanAuthor's Note
