Echoes

A Poem by veiledverse
"

This particular piece of verse is a raw and introspective poem that delves into the burden of rage, guilt, and self-destruction. Exploring one's own feelings.

"
To whom do I confess my sin?
to whom must I atone?
the rage I nurture within me, the rage of people who wronged me
the storm born within me that never belonged to me
I unravel the flesh - again and again and again until no blood runs through it
by then my hands are stained,
painted with the sorrow of others
the one who runs from her own misery
becomes the master of someone else's pain
I am a miserable women, from whom do I hide myself
I punish myself, to whom I run after bleeding
The power cracks through my head seeps through my words
oh lord, who is the greater sinner-
one who carries rage
the one who inflict it
or the one who suffers beneath it?
whom do I punish?
I look in the mirror
oh, oh dear mirror be gentle to me.
