ReflectionsA Poem by Jeannette GaspardJust a bit of whimsy.
The sky has fallen to the earth
and lays right there between those trees. Clouds are skidding sprightly by lightly rippled by the breeze. Trees have twins that stretch away, twining limbs like holding hands and dropping leaves that float across this brightly shining mirror land. I wonder if the same small town lies in wait beyond that rise with people walking upside down and living mirrored lives. I want to take a little nap beneath that willow but I bet if I should try to reach it I will only end up getting wet. And so, instead I'll skim a stone across the dazzling mirror top and watch it dance across the clouds and sink into them with a plop. © 2012 Jeannette GaspardAuthor's Note
