The HollowA Poem by A.CA poem.."The Hollow" Listen to the heartbeat waning in the night, does it comfort you to know I'm dying inside? Can you see the way I squirm when I sleep, or how my voice breaks when I speak? Is it a burden or a prize to hold shame over my eyes?
Hide me from my prospects, make my future blind. Enrage my passion with your absence, so unkind. How long will my will survive? You gave me forever to learn my place; the immortal never die, just fade away.
Listen for the screaming, just north of sanity. As I listen for the footsteps of eternity, hold my face under the pillow so you can't hear me breathe.
Hide me from my prospects, make my future blind. Enrage my passion with your absence, so unkind. How long will my will survive? You gave me forever to learn my place; the immortal never die, just fade away.
Hopeless and lifeless as my eyes would betray; my loose associations, call it reality. Time to bury this corpse rotting away, Exhume the mind, my ancient personality.
Hide me from my prospects, make my future blind. Enrage my passion with your absence, so unkind. How long will my will survive? You gave me forever to learn my place; the immortal never die, just fade away.
Even in madness I would not hear the truth, No sickness could leave me as empty as you. © 2013 A.C |
