You Smell Like Candy

You Smell Like Candy

A Poem by Sean

You Smell Like Candy

Woke up this morning and said I was going home

I told you I’m not going home

I’m going to stop screaming before I lose my voice

Please let me stop screaming before I lose my voice

Match your warm cigarette to mine

Just watch the snow fall and don’t breathe loudly

Let me take your hand and walk you home

I can see there’s no one home

Just take a taste and here’s a kiss goodbye

I’m great the way it’s cold

It’s been four long days since then

I’m fine the way it’s old

You taste like apples she said

My fist up to the dealer

You smell like candy she said

My price up in the mirror

You’re good like roses he said

My times all over the coffin

You’re white like winter he said

My sun burned eyes held together

Where did it all go

When I said I was going home

Where did it all go

When I said I was going home…
